Firearm Transfer
Import or Export Firearm Transfer Fees:
1st response officers: Active and Retired
Members of Armed Forces: Active/Guard/Reserve/Coast Guard/Retired.
You must present a valid Department issued ID at time of transfer.
$36.00 for the first firearm$31.00 each additional firearm

Non-LE/Military
$46 for the first firearm. $41 each additional firearm.

Export handling fee for Pistol or Revolver: $15.00 for the first firearm. $10.00 each additional firearm.*

Method of Shipping for Exporting Firearm: FedEx 2-day is used to ship firearm. Shipping cost is an approximation and determined by dimension and weight of package. Adjustment Approximate cost of a single pistol, ~$35. Approximate cost of a single rifle, ~$65.00.  

EXPORT NOTE:
1) YOU can export your firearm to a FFL (including Gunsmith) located in the other 50 states, ONLY if FFL will accept firearm from YOU (nonlicensee). REF:[18 U.S.C. 922(a)(3) and 922(b)(3)] and [18 U.S.C. 922(a)(3) and (5), 922(d), 27 CFR 478.29 and 478.30]
2) YOU can use USPS or commercial carrier to ship firearm to FFL or Gunsmith REF: [18 U.S.C. 1715, 922(a)(3), 922(a)(5) and 922 (a)(2)(A)] and [18 U.S.C. 922(a)(2)(A), 922(a) (3), 922(a)(5) and 922(e), 27 CFR 478.31 and 478.30]
3) If FFL will ONLY accept firearm from another FFL then firearm will have to be permitted and transferred to Danger Close Tactical prior to exporting. Because we are a permit state, you are required by HRS 134-2 and 134-4(b) to re-permit and re-register your firearm with HPD upon return from warranty work or repair.

IMPORT to Hawaii

Wherever you purchase your firearm they are going to need a copy of our Federal Firearms License (FFL) in order to ship the firearm to us. Upon request we can mail, e-mail, or fax them a copy of our FFL. They will then send the firearm to us for you to pick up. As the buyer of the firearm you will need to have the sender/seller include a few documents with the firearm, if applicable.

1) A valid and legible copy of their FFL or a copy of their valid state drivers license, if not a FFL holder.

2) Your name and a phone number.

3) Seller's invoice, proof of purchase, or state gun registration for firearm being transferred.

After the firearm has been processed into our system we will contact you by phone, email, or text message to let you know that the firearm is ready to be picked up. If you are tracking your transfer and it shows it has arrived that does not mean that it is ready to be picked up. Please wait for us to contact you or you can come by 24hrs after your notification by the carrier.

You MUST provide valid government issued document (State Driver License or State Identifcation Card)  in order to pick up the firearm and complete ATF Form 4473, Firearms Transaction Record:

1) Valid Hawaii driver's license or Hawaii State ID card that has name, photograph, current residential address, and date of birth. NOTE: if your current residential address is not current then you need to provide another government issued document that has your current residential address.

2) Original Hawaii Permit to Acquire Firearms with HPD embossed seal. No photocopy.

3) Or, Original Affidavit of Certified Firearms Education Course, Hunters Education Card, or Military Affidavit with notary stamp. (Pistol Acquisition Only) 

Members of the Armed Forces not a resident of Hawaii

1) Valid State Driver License and Military ID card

2) Hawaii permit to acquire long gun or pistol. NOTE: Permit to acquire must show current residential address in Hawaii.

3) PCS orders.

Once all of these requirements are satisfied, you can pay your transfer fee and take your firearm home. 

EXPORT out of Hawaii
Exported firearm MUST be transferred to a FFL. Firearms cannot be transferred to a non-FFL. You MUST know the firearm possession laws in the state you are transferring the firearm to. What's legal here might not be legal there.

Required documents to transfer long gun:

1) Firearm Registration 

2) Valid Hawaii driver's license or Hawaii State ID card that has name, photograph, current residential address, and date of birth.

3) Federal Firearm Licensee Document of receiving party.

Required documents to transfer pistol/revolver:

1) Firearm Registration 

2) Valid Hawaii driver's license or Hawaii State ID card that has name, photograph, current residential address, and date of birth.

3) Federal Firearm Licensee Document of receiving party.

4) Schedule to meet at HPD to complete transfer of pistol/revolver to Danger Close Tacatical.*

TRANSFERS, SPECIAL ORDERS, AND PURCHASES WILL BE HELD FOR 30 DAYS UNLESS A LONGER TIME IS APPROVED IN WRITING. ANY GUN LEFT AFTER 30 DAYS WILL BE CONSIDERED ABANDONED PROPERTY AND BECOME THE PROPERTY OF DANGER CLOSE TACTICAL.
